Mr. Fix this!

I’m trying to catch up this weekend on some home improvements that have thus far slipped into the void over the last four months. The end of the weekend is nearing and I’m here to report that things are looking good. I fixed the oven door Friday night. I patched up the screen door on the back sliding door with some transperant duct tape. It looks really good and it was well worth the extra money.

Today, I went to Lowe’s and purchased the goods we’ll be needing to get the bathroom tile redone and for painting the walls. I thought for a few minutes today that I might get to doing it today but I started with recaulking the bathtub and that’s as far as I got.

Next weekend we’ll paint the bathroom with a free form stone texture finish with dual glazing to create a wet, muddy, earthy look to continue our earthy feel throughout the house while keeping a cool look in the bathroom. We have a new shower curtain that’s white with a beautiful bamboo style asian pattern on it thanks to a great wedding gift from the Gober’s. The bathroom should be complete soon.

We came up with a great idea for the living room but I keep having to remind myself, “One project at a time, self”. So I’ll wait to tell you about that one when I get to it.

We spent both Friday and Saturday night at the Esler’s home and that was excellent as usual. They are very kind to us and put up with all three of our dogs in their house whenever we come over which is extra special. Frida and Arthur both had number two accidents in their house but I rose to the occasion and cleaned up after them pretty well for the most part. We had a few beers each night and watched scary movies due to the holiday and had a good time all in all. With all the time that we spent with them it’s a wonder I got anything done this weekend, but I did.

The general elections are coming up this Tuesday and that will be a big relief. I have to agree with my mother who does not share the same view that we do with who should be our next president that whoever does win this election I hope and pray that they win it decidedly. I’ve been following the Electoral Vote predictor quite closely the last couple of weeks. It’s been quite a roller coaster ride this week and I can’t imagine that will change too much in the next couple of days. For the moment Kerry and Edwards are looking good with leads in most of the swing states excluding Ohio. Vicky and I both voted last week and in case you were wondering, or if you’re my mother and want to see it on the record, yes we voted for all Democrats this time around. We’ve always considered ourselves liberal and thusly agreed that in order to keep our freedoms we need a stronger government that will raise taxes for the greater good of our country and our countrymen. Anyways, that’s my schpeil and I’m sticking to it.
