Camera found! Mobility lost!

So goes life I guess. Let me explain. Yesterday, I woke up with a little prick in the lower right side of my back. I thought, “well it’s only been about 4 months since the last major back attack so this is a bit too soon to be the same thing”, but I was wrong. My poor little atrophied geek muscles haven’t see a proper stretch since the last time I hurt my back.

Although this time was not as bad in that it hasn’t required a rush to the chiropractor, it was a bit more embaressing. By 1:00pm I had set down my salad and decided to lay down on the floor in the local Jack in the Box to get the pain to go away. While I laid there I had to explain myself to an eighty year old, totally mobile woman and two members of the staff. They were very nice and helpful, but a situation like this still makes a man change his mindset about his way of life.

I’d already been walking to work every day this week but I’m afraid that it was too little too late. I’ve decided that once I get back to normal I’m going to start walking my dogs again and getting the proper amount of excercise that a geek needs. Which is more than the average bipedal after all. I forget the exact equation but it’s something like the amount of mental excercise one practices during a day is directly proportional to the amount of physical exercise that the geek must seek in order to maintain a healthy body.

So this weekend I have lots to do, mental and physical. I need to finish up some work on Carl’s website, start working on my brother-in-law’s website, and hope that some previously paid for freelance work doesn’t mysteriously come down the pipe in the next couple of days. On the physical side of things there are the normal dishes and floors that need our attention but on top of that we had previously decided to repaint and refloor the entire bathroom. Luckily, it’s one of the smallest bathrooms on earth. Which, by the way is the first time that I’ve been happy to announce that!

Also in the Creative Images portion of this newscast, Dubya has been ousted for the fish’s name by one of my college instructors from The Art Institute. I think that it’s a cruel name for the fish personally, but from a political standpoint considering all of the interesting comments I’ve gotten on naming the fish I think Dubya is a little too controversial. We haven’t come up with a replacement name but after my experience yesterday I’m leaning towards Jack.

Oh yeah, and we found our digital camera!

I think you should have named the fish crikey…. then you could holler CRIKEY! every time you see it.
