One fish, two fish
Roseburg has experienced little to no rain this year and it’s been quite a blessing for most of the area. This time of year we are normally in the middle of 45 days without sun, lots of rain, and cold and dreary conditions all around. We decided that the mid 70’s temperatures were too much to handle yesterday. I left work early around 3pm and we decided to head up river and see what we could find.
We found Deadline Falls. The trail head for Deadline Falls is actually also the trailhead for the North Umpqua Trail. A 79 mile long trail that follows? You guessed it! It follows the North Umpqua river. We luckily didn’t need to hike 79 miles to see the falls. Our trek was only about .79 of a mile. When we arrived, we got a big surprise in that there were salmon running! They were trying to get up and over the falls to spawn up river. We saw a couple of fishers down stream of Deadline falls, but nobody seemed to be doing very well. Anyway, below I’ve posted some photos to share the moments we had with you all.
